Um, guys?...

WE DID IT!
$50 250 for marriage equality!
Oh, and guys?
My donation was the one that pushed it over the top.
That is one of the coolest, luckiest moments of timing ever and it makes me happy.
This whole thing, though, makes me happy. $50 000 made by the power of fandom by people who donated their time and their talent, by people who bid hard-earned cash. Our charitable instincts are undeniable, and so is our skill, and so is the undeniable sense of community we have, how we're bound together by ties stronger than anything, pre-fandom, I would have believed! All the best things about fandom were shown by this auction - our progressiveness and our talent and our idealism and our status as People Who Make Things and our kindness and our originality and our charity and our community and our desire to make things better. The internet is supposedly full of misanthropes - and, well, that's true. But it's also full of talent, and full of idealists who want to save the world, and we're always the ones we come back for!
Go and squee!!
Right, time to go and earn the $95 - fuck, I hadn't written that down before, this stuff had better be good - various people were kind enough to bid. *squishes

We are the proverbial 'small group of concerned citizens'. Now all that's left is to see if we change the world...
