The fighting, heart pounding in her chest, driving hot blood through her: that had always been glorious.

But Faith was starting to enjoy a new moment: the instant when the fury of battle stopped, dust falling around her, and she realised it was over. Then she slanted a glance at Buffy, and the other Slayer caught her smile like something shining – a knife, maybe – and they knew they’d won.

Tonight, she felt brave. So Faith cupped Buffy’s chin, drawing her face up to hers. Buffy’s warm breath stuttered out over Faith’s smiling, crimson lips.

She didn’t have to lean in.

My icon is a Doctor Who reference - being British, I revere Doctor Who. The tenth Doctor, David Tennant, wears suits with Converse all the time when he's running around time and space. :)

Speaking of... must get off LJ and go and watch Torchwood. (It's a spin-off. Big gay sci-fi.)
