Yay Middle Sister!

First things first: Middle Sister, like the rest, got her A-Level results on yesterday. (For non-Brits: A-Levels are what you take after GCSEs if you so choose. After A Levels (sixteen-to-eighteen) comes university, if you want and you can.) She did fantastically well: two A*s and a B. She was, astonishingly, pretty depressed. Poor love got the B for Art, which is her favourite subject, having been told she’d get a A by her teacher. This same teacher lost her coursework so we hate him.

But on the whole: HUZZAH! She’s off to study art history at Leeds in September. Lucky girl. I’m having epic and continuing angst about what to do after I leave uni and everyone I know is heartily sick of hearing about it. :)

I’ve not been able to write at all this week due to horrible icky RL. *pouts at it* Now I am throwing myself JOYFULLY into the writing of stuff and it’s awesome. Oh text, never leave me again!

She's a clever girl! It's now straight As, as well - she got an A for her exams, so EdExcel put her coursework mark up to an A considering the school lost her first bit of work.

Oh RL. It turns out there are even more deadlines than I thought, but I'm still taking advantage of the oppurtunity to write some Harry/Draco smut.

If you do want to go into publishing I might be able to get some advice for you etc from family friend who is head of Children's Fiction at Hodder if I see her...

Decisions are hard. I'm glad I've given them up for a year.

That would actually be really great. I definitely want to do work experience at a publishing house or a literary agency, because I think I might really like it! And you know children's books are my passion. Actual kids' books - I was in WHSmith today, and every time I'm shocked at their inability to sort. It's because the teen section is combined with the kids' section, but there's YA with blowjobs under the cutesy banner with a Quentin Blake illustration on it!
