Aaargh. Today was going to be a writing day but I've barely squeezed out 300 words, and the stuff I was working on, I cannot currently get to :( Even the embarrassing fic which, since it is embarrassing and id-y and has no smut in it, I feel like I would write quickly. (I am having some sort of bizarre smut block.)

So I am going to do a meme! Plz entertain me, you guys. I'm in the mood for a music-related one, since I'm really enjoying hyperdarkchoc92 and kubrick_potter's 30-Day Music Memes.

That's one I don't really have a perfect song for, as it happens. I tend to listen for shades of it in mentor-type songs but there aren't many.

So my answer is quite embarrassing, but the one that came to mind is Lua by Bright Eyes.

I can really feel it as a Snape song, where he's kind of hopeless from all his years of spying and he can see how Draco is fraying under the pressure of being a Death Eater, but they're fucking regularly and it's simple then. And he's sort of telling himself he doesn't mind that Draco's in love with him and he still can't save the boy. It's not something I would recommend, but it is one way to live.

I didn't know that song... or its emo-reputation. But I'm always interested in what the perfect song for Snaco could be, because I don't have one. :( I'm really fond of your explanation why it fits so well. I do love that interpretation of the pairing. :D

No happy song for them, though? Not even Potions Yesterday? :D

*grins* Well, Bright Eyes is just known as an emo kind of dude :D But whatever, Snape's an emo kind of bloke, and I just love the idea that spying would make it so even something relatively sincere had him going the love I sell you in the moonlight, by morning won't exist.

LOL. Potions Yesterday can be their happy song! I will try to think of a cuddly one - I do actually have a shameful, mad love for Snaco fluff.

Also, happy Ron/Draco! Steer by Missy Higgins. FINDING LOVE WITH RON LETS DRACO FIND A WAY OF STEERING HIS OWN LIFE ♥ I like to see this as doing that for Ron, too - he's even more in need of self-definition, in some ways - but a lot of the lines just strike me as ever-so-Draco. Maybe a duet :D

Ooh, I love them both! The emo one is very slightly my favorite. I've always thought of the Ron/Draco relationship as being very impulsive, where they get all caught up in each other and don't consider the consequences until it's too late. Falling's not the problem, indeed!

I also think the Snaco song is totally, absolutely perfect, even though it's very depressing, haha.
