Truly amazing. This goes into that list of very special works to be read again. Particularly stunning given this is a pairing I would usually avoid. The anger and the pain makes it work. I would echo all of the other comments. Masterfully done.
One thing in particular that I adored was that Ron couldn't just pick up the single-tail whip and use it competently. It takes a lot of practice and it annoys the fuck out of me when people don't get that. It made it so much more real for me when you did that.
