My dear friend Miss Godfrey has a boy. The boy is a magician, and he’s having a bit of trouble with the patter for his act:
I've got a routine where a card goes in the middle of the pack and then magically jumps to the top and for the talking that goes with it I thought it might be amusing to do it as lots of different famous authors.
So the sentence is "The card goes in the middle, it's not on top, it's not second from top, then I snap my fingers and it jumps up to the top."
He is suffering from writer’s block and desperate for ideas. Miss Godfrey wishes to help and impress him (his ex-girlfriend’s coming up with stuff too). She asked me to ask you guys for help.
I am rather embarrassed to be doing so, but I love her a lot and it’s quite a fun challenge. Besides, every sentence gets a drabble of your choice. Rewards!
So if you could comment with a version of that sentence written in the style of a certain author or genre, I would be ETERNALLY GRATEFUL. Forever and ever. Inspiration is starting to fail me!
