DH predictions, hopes, and wibbling
I can't believe it. Less than twelve hours to go. PLEASE don't let Draco die. Or Harry. PLEASE.
I suddenly realised I haven't done my predictions yet, so
1. Aberforth Dumbledore, barman at the Hog's Head, will be important.
2. RAB is Regulus Black, and the unopenable locket at Grimmauld Place is the Slytherin Horcrux. (Yay for obviousness!)
3. In a continuation of the sacrifical maternal love theme, Narcissa Malfoy will die for her son.
4. Largely as a result of this, Draco will show a total lack of loyalty to Voldemort. (I doubt he'll outright join the Order. What I most want to happen is for the Order to show up at Riddle Manor or whatever, where Draco is guarding the entrance, and for him to be like, "Order? I see no Order.")
5. Snape...is evil. I think. I don't know. Never mind. Let's try this again:
5. Snape and Draco will be together when Harry finds Snape. Draco will attempt to protect Snape from the wrath of capslock!Harry, who will use Cruciatus on old Greasy Bat.
6. Petunia has a secret. It will be revealed. For my money it's her latent magical talent.
7. Arthur Weasley will die, and this will cause Molly to fall apart, thus showing how the strong matriach relies on her love.
8. Fleur will pass Ron at the wedding and he will be too busy staring at Hermione in her finery to notice.
9. Ginny's history with Tom Riddle will be vital. Preferably either by her violent side shading into darkness and skill with Unforgivables or use of how her story arc mirrors victims of child abuse, but most likely in a Voldemort-kidnaps-her-and-there's-some-implied-sexual-ickiness way.
10. The Gryffindor Horcrux is the griffin doorknocker on the Headmistress' Office, which was Godric Gryffindor's.
11. The night before the final battle, Ginny will sneak into Harry's room. We'll see her grin before the scene tastefully ends.
12. We will see Slytherins join the Order in a sign of that houses-unite thread FINALLY being tied up.
13. Ron's talent at chess will translate into loads of war strategy skillz.
14. The Horcrux Hunt will hone Ron's skills so he can become a good Auror afterwards.
15. Neville will take Bellatrix down.
16. Lucius will escape Azkaban. After that it's anyone's guess.
17. Peter's life debt will be vital.
18. Percy will rejoin his family in the midst of war, pale, saying he wants to help.
19. The twins' shop will be blown up. Possibly with them inside it.
20. Hagrid will die. Sorry.
20a. Let's end on a bit of a high note. Luna's immense awesomeness will be shown, even more than it was in OotP. Because she is awesome in an endless variety of ways, which I will have to list one day.
That's a little depressing, so let's see
1. Draco will survive and go free, without loosing his wand or his fortune. His survival I hope is quite likely, since his story mirrors that of Regulus Black liek WHOA, and it would be a sign of this war ending more happily for him to survive. I'm hoping Draco will also show some of Regulus Black's immense bravery, which I think could easily happen for the sake of his parents.
2. Harry survives.
3. Neville/Ginny. For reals.
4. Ron and Hermione survive. And Ginny, or Harry/Draco will get a bit angsty and filled with Harry guilt. And Neville because I heart him.
5. Ron and Hermione get together in this one. After all this teasing I'll smack a bitch if it doesn't happen.
6. Harry really gets off on the power of Unforgivables, or at the very least enjoys using one on Snape.
7. Draco helps the Order, even joins them. The whole Hogwarts-unite theme, as I said, should be dealt with, and it will mean by far the most coming from Draco. (If Snape, as the other prominent Slytherin, is good, it will still have less of a symbolic impact as he's been good for decades.)
8. Lucius survives the war, goes free, and lives to irritate Arthur Weasley another day. They are the One True Rivalry.
9. McGonagall will get Harry to teach Hogwarts kids a bit of survival stuff, because Harry's teaching rocks the shop.
10. Draco and Harry will have lots and lots of subtext. Preferably subtext that translates itself into them spending time alone, there being unaccounted-for nights, Harry being the only one who agrees to share a bedroom with Draco (leading to consternation and then wild joy from Ron, who wants to share with Hermione but gets shot down by his mum). Most of all, I want a Harry/Ginny tender moment to be interrupted by Harry's need to hunt/talk to/consider/chase/fuck Draco.
It's nearly over. I'm going to be a basket case tomorrow. I already spent most of the day in my room so I wouldn't go on LJ and would control my fanstuff around my family.
